Rabindra Dhungel : Hira Thokar is a strong warrior in the communist movement of Dolakha. He is known as an honest, ideological and organizationally skilled UML leader / district secretary. Thokar is loyal to the principle of communism .

Hira Thokar is said to be a symbol of prosperity not only of one community but of the entire district. Thokar, who was also the ward chairperson of ward no. 3 under Melung Rural Municipality, However, for the convenience of the people, he reaches their doorsteps. He used to go to people’s houses to bring justice to the victims, whether they were receiving social security allowance or not. He was directly involved in every development work in the ward.                                                                                         He is currently the candidate for the post of chairman of Melung Rural Municipality.

Thokar, who started his political journey from the CPN (UML) student organization ( All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union), has spent more than three decades in the service of the people. Influenced by the then UML General Secretary Madan Bhandari, Thokar is one of the leaders who suffered extreme torture during the Maoist centre People’s War.

Thokar, who joined ANNISU in 2043 BS, became an organized member of UML in 2047 BS. In the local body elections of 2051, Thokar also became the ward president. Now he Succeeded in becoming the district secretary of his political party. Thokar became the president of the Democratic National Youth Association of Nepal in 2063 BS and was elected a member of the district committee secretariat of the CPN (UML) in 2063 BS.

Thokar, who has gained political supremacy by being the chairman of the district sports development committee and youth force in-charge, says that if he becomes the chairman of the Rural Municipality, he will do the following.

1) To start the agricultural revolution.
2) To start industrial revolution through culture, tourism and production.
3) To guarantee good governance.
4) Health The health of my citizens is my responsibility , To operate Rotation Health Campaign under all wards .
5) To solve land related problems.
6) To prepare educated and trained youth manpower by connecting the youth with Self-Employment.
7) To guarantee food security and maternal and child safety.
8) To start employment program through cooperatives.
9) To start ‘Environmental protection – citizen life saving programs and projects.
10) To promote water tourism through rafting and boating.
11) Special programs for children, senior citizens and the disabled.
12) To start social justice and prosperous society building campaign.
13) To provide journalism skill development and free communication facility.
14) To provide employment to the youth in the village by starting ‘Come to the Village – closer to the people’ program.
15) To promote one school one product. Etc.
